This
is the picture of Jan's very busy visit: May
2005
(Janette Francis is one of our Trustees.)
Wednesday
1. Melania C. and her lovely sons: David is
better than you left him last time and Eric is a gorgeous, clever baby, 19
months old. Melania needs some incontinence pads, a special corset for David
(Dana will find out more from her office, the Health Insurance House, and will
try to find a good firm which makes corsets for disabled persons) and a special
push chair (Victor offered Cristina's, as it is suitable for a child like
David). Sorin, Melania's husband will go to Victor to see the chair and if it
is suitable. He will take it with his taxi. If it is not suitable Dana will
search for one.
2. Carmen I. and her family. Carmen was at
her job (at a theatre in Bucharest),
but we found the rest of the family at home, the father and the two children.
The daughter is well. She goes to the high-school now. The son looks better.
The roof is more than fine - no more
water inside the house. They also painted the outside door and due to your help
their life is better. Jan took photos of
the roof. They need, in future, an extra
sponsorship from £11 to £20 per month, in order to cope with their
medicines.
3. Tereza and Silvia: After the operations
for her new hips Tereza is much better now and due to sponsorship she can now
have all the pills she needs . Part of them are still sustained by the state
(Dana is a guardian of this, as the lists with medicines changed in a bad way-
many of them must be paid for by the ill persons. Without your help she
wouldn't afford all the medicines). Cezar is unemployed as he is trying hard to
obtain a Spanish driving licence and then to find a new job. Silvia is fine,
going to her university course, but she is missing her father.
THURSDAY
Victor and his family: His wife, Nina, has
now some health problems to solve in Bucharest.
Her father is old and ill and she must stay with him at the country. Now she is
in Bucharest
and Victor is replacing her for a while. Cristina is a pretty young lady now,
who is so happy to receive your precious help to have a safe special chair.
Alin, the son, is at the high school now. Victor offered a special pushchair
for the Network (for Melania's David if it is suitable) and a wheelchair (maybe
for the new centre in Slanic). He also offered his help in solving the problem
of Viorica's roof. He is buying incontinence pads for Cristina directly from
the factory he discovered in Bucharest
and is also going to the special pharmacy to buy vitamins. They also need some
special incontinence pants to hold Cristina’s incontinence pads.
Toma and his family: His wife, Tanta, is better after
the treatment. She needs vitamins every month. Laur is working at the office of
the High School and he is pleased with that.
Viorica, the lady with the roof repair
thanks you very much for your help. She was very worried because her
husband, is missing from home since last
Monday. The family needs, if possible, in the future, a monthly sponsorship,
which we can pass on in the form of food
and medicines bought by ourselves and then given to the family.
Valentina, and her two children: Ioana was
very ill. She almost died last month. Now she has recovered and is much better.
We all prayed for her. Eliza is like a daughter for Valentina and she blossomed
due to her. Valentina also has health problems. They need very much help in
order to buy some paint for the kitchen and for Ioana's room. We'll send
you soon the exact sum. The doctors think that Ioana's condition will improve
due to repainting the room and kitchen. They also need an extra sponsorship
from £20 to £30 per month for medicines, as the new regulations are very bad and affected a lot of people.
Valentina also needs for the girls a second hand fm+cassete or cd-player.
New case: BOGDAN CAPATINA, 24 years old,
cerebral palsy, server urinary incontinence, also blind. They need very urgent,
if possible, a sponsor for plastic urine bags and stoppers, £20/month. The
mother and father have small pensions and cannot even afford to buy the
equipment for Bogdan, as they hardly have all the medicines they all need.
Florentina and her family. Their new flat
is OK now for the entire family, including the mother of Florentina. Luciana is
a beautfiul young lady now, taller than her mother. She is at the special
school. She seems pleased, as it is fine for her to be with other children,
playing and learning. Adi is better now. His health has improved a lot. The
grandmother is also fine, Florentina is fine. Her health is ok, but she is not
pleased by Luciana's school, but as you know, all the special schools in Romania are the
same anyway.
Jan asked Florentina to help by preparing boxes with resources she doesn't use for
Luciana in order to use them for the new Slanic Centre. She agreed.
FRIDAY
Cristina M. and her family. Her grand
daughter is a gorgeous, clever, 5 months baby, good and healthy. The mother,
Cristina's older daughter, is more beautiful now as a happy mother. The other 3
children of Cristina are fine at school. Cristina has a big problem with her 3
brothers, who want to throw her away from the apartment along with her
children. She lives in it with 2 of her brothers. They want to give her a small
amount and make her leave the apartment. Dana will try to help her by finding
legal aid. She has a friend who is a law
counsellor. They will help Cristina.
With God's help, as always, we made a lot
of visits to almost all our members in Bucharest
to comfort, advise, inform and help them. We also spoke on the ‘phone with Brother
Mihai to make arrangements for the truck and he promised again to help. Florin M. from Alexandria
was very happy to hear Jan’s voice. Mariana V. thanked us for the £10 from
Janet sent to the young disabled girl who likes to paint, in order to buy
paints for her. (She will come to Bucharest
next weekend and she will meet Dana.) Gabi and Sabina from the Magic Theatre,
who'll be in Bucharest
next week, will contact Dana to come and pick up the Father Christmas costume
hand-made in England,
by Carol, the seamstress at Greenbank
Residential School,
Cheshire.
We also bought an electric blood pressure
machine for dear Ionel Marin and his old parents. We bought it from a hypermarket
cheaper than the shops for less than £60.
We already arranged with a relative of
Ionel to pick it up when he next comes to Bucharest.
We also bought glasses to help us with
fundraising.
We think it is better for all of us to use
the special needs resources we have in the flats of Victor, Florentina and Dana
for the new centre in Slanic, for the children.
Jan left an envelope with the remainder of
the sponsorship which will be used as follows:
-100£ for incontinence
pads according to the size of our members:
Cristina N.
Claudiu B.
Cristina P.
David C.
Ioana N.
Anca V.
-100£ for vitamins.
The remainder will be used for the truck.
Extra sponsorship is needed for the
following members:
Valentina N. from £20 to £30 for
medication.
Carmen I. from £11 to £20 for her
husband’s medication.
Minodora B.
Bogdan C., £20/month, very ill.
Florentina Cristina
Ovidiu Z.
We love you and miss you all very much.
