In the early days of Network Gloria we were involved with providing educational resources for street children.
The pictures on the right show some street children at the opening of the St.Stelian Association canteen, Bucharest. The organisation cares for poor families and street children. They have also an education programme and a medical centre. For further details please visit http://sfs.ong.ro

becky_and_baby.jpg  Becky, one of our team members, is holding a baby in a home for young women. It is run by a charity. The baby may be separated from its mother if the home does not fulfill all of the citeria for child provision required by the authorities.

The children in this photograph are in a Placement Centre in Bacau (NE Romania). Movement, play, music and art therapy for institutionalized children and adults (IMPART) is a project of the Community Support Foundation, Bacau, and its members have been working with those children since 1991. They can see how things have improved in that institution. The children seem well cared for. Many of the younger children go to the town's kindergardens and integrate with children from families.

The therapy programmes sustained by IMPART make the children more sociable and communicative. They discover musical sounds through music therapy sessions.
